Without the proper song and arrangement, a recording is always going to fall flat with the listener. No amazing snare drum sound or production will be able to save it. One of the advantages of coming to Morph Productions for your recording project is using Ashton's songwriting and arranging talents to help perfect your songs before the record button is ever pressed.
Ashton has had a lot of success as a songwriter, and is happy to share his knowledge to help his clients achieve their goals. In 2001, Ashton co-wrote songs with Hamilton rocker Kazzer that helped him get signed with Epic/Sony in the U.S., which then led to Ashton getting signed with Sony Canada as a songwriter. After the completion of that contract, Ashton has since written with many artists and has licensed numerous songs to TV shows such as "Degrassi: The Next Generation", and video games such as XBOX 360 game "Flat Out: Ultimate Carnage".
Half away around the world, his compositions can be heard in the successful Malaysian TV shows "Ghost" and "10". He also co-wrote the theme song to the Speed Network's internationally aired show "Sports Car Revolution".
Ashton uses his experience to get his clients' songs as marketable as possible, while not drifting too far from the artist's original vision. Not only is he available for co-writing with artists, he can also provide music for singers who've written songs and don't play an instrument.
